It has been very busy here. In nine days we sent out 320 quilts. One hundred went to Bagram and 100 to Qatar. Here in U.S. Fifty quilts went to V.A. counseling services, 50 to V.A. hospice and 20 to Navy programs. Our cupboards are bare. Since we think we have things covered, no pun intended, we can enjoy our holidays without too much panic. It is a slow time for us since quilters have turned their attention to families. We do plan for this and appreciate it.
Of course none of this will work without the very hard work of so many. Thank you all for your generous support for our wonderful service men and women. We would also like to thank you for your support for American Hero Quilts. As our numbers go up to almost 28,000 quilts we know none of this would be possible without all of you. Thank you. Thanks so much Susan, it is so nice to know we can count on you year after year.
Today we are frantically calling anyone we can think of as the military has requested another 100 quilts. I am working on the premise that if we need it they will come. I hope this is the time of Christmas miracles for American Hero Quilts. I want to know we did everything we can to deliver metaphoric hugs to those in our military who really need that.
