We just got back from a memorial service, presented a wreath in memory of the fallen, and gave a short tribute.
One of my favorite quotes is not attributed to anyone. A Marine gave me this quote when we started AHQ’s twenty years ago. He shared “America without it’s warriors would be like God without angels.” I think of that quote so often as we send out quilts to our wounded, veterans in hospice, families who have lost their loved one and so many of our warriors.
We are so grateful to our warriors, those who have given everything as well as their families. We are also grateful to those who live the moto “freedom isn’t free.” President JFK famously said, ” As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest is not to utter the words but to live by them.” It goes without saying that there would be no AHQ’s without all the wonderful volunteers and supporters that have supported this project for 20 years. Thank you.
