Veterans Day

Veterans Day

Today is veterans day. It seems to me that every day should be a day that we honor our veterans and their families. Every day our veterans, and to some extent their families, sacrifice their lives to keep us safe and to make sure our democracy stands.

For many of us it is a time of uncertainty. No one could have seen the corona virus coming and what it would mean for people all over the world. It must be especially difficult for those posted over seas worried about the safety of their family at home.

We know it has been difficult for all of us. Please take the time to thank our warriors and look out for their family members. More than ever we must stick together regardless of our politics, personal beliefs or fear of our future.

May God bless America.

  1. Sue,
I heard about you great mission today at a meeting of Chapter 53 Vietnam Veterans of America, here in the South Bay of California. The quilts are beautiful, but the story is wonderful. As I mentioned to our new member Dave Massey, I would like to give you a donation. Do you have a way I can do so via my Credit card? He sent me what appears to be a small resume sheet which (I assume) will help you build a quilt for me. While I loved the one Dave showed us, I have enough quilts, and my guess is that there are soldiers deployed that have a greater need than me.

I have a constructive comment however. The service shields are a terrific banner for you program, but there is a specific order to their placement, and it is determined by their date of inception. Accordingly they are Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard. No big thing but I expect you’d want to know, and let everyone know that you know.

    Keep up the great work!
